Also, once you have some basic, sharedtalk.com can let you speak to real french speakers and they can help you improve your skills.

on iTunes there’s this podcast called “Coffee Break French” it consist of 80 lessons.
There’s a teacher and a student talking in both english and french.
I’m on lesson 13 and I’ve learnt so much in that little bit of time. It’s totally free, you can download the entire thing and put it in your ipod so you can listen to it on the go.

    Hope this helps!

These are good free websites I’ve tried that have plenty of exercises to teach you new things and practice what you already know:
    http://www.mangolanguages.com/
    http://www.livemocha.com/sihp

I know of, but have not tried, the following websites too. They have been recommended to me by people, so they must work for some. Give them a crack and see how they go:
    http://www.abroadlanguages.com/
    http://www.myhappyplanet.com/
    http://www.busuu.com/
    http://www.babbel.com/
    http://www.rocketlanguages.com/german/pr…

This is a good website where you can download the program on the home page and then download lists for the languages you want. Then you go into it and select the list you want to be tested on and it brings up flash cards to test you on that particular list, and you type in the answers. It also tells you how to say the words as it brings up the cards, which is especially awesome:

This website has tons of television channels you can watch from all over the world so it’s really useful if you want to watch shows in the languages you’re learning to supplement your knowledge of culture and word barriers, etc.:
    http://www.global-itv.com/

This is a wonderful website that I’ve come across, and use myself, that is full of people worldwide wanting to communicate with other people from across the globe. You can select something up the top of the page called “language exchange” which is where people will help you with your chosen foreign language, and in turn you supplement them with telling them what you know about the languages you speak. There’s always a demand for native English speakers!

There is another good French podcast I know: http://podcastfrancaisfacile.com This website is constructed similarly to a blog and it lets you browse audio recordings by level. And the good thing about it is that every text is read slowly first, and then at normal speed.

I also have videos for Beginners on my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/antonkunin I will be adding more videos for other levels, too, in the near future.

Plus, there are several websites offering live online language lessons. To me, it seems like the best option, because unlike a textbook or a podcast, a teacher can correct your mistakes, monitor your progress and give advice. The most successful ones at the moment seem to be http://edufire.com and http://myngle.com You have all your freedom to choose a teacher you like and work together towards your goals.
