What language would be easier to learn, French or German?
I really want to learn another language, but I don’t know which one of the two, French or German.

French is easier to learn once you get past the irregular verbs and gender-specific nouns, but German is more structured and you have a start on it.
But in my experience, French is easier. I am fluent in both languages. German took me 2 years to master and French only took me 1.
Mhhh… tough question.
I think it also depends in your language background. If you are familiar with languages related to German –just like English– you may have an advantage in learning German. If you have learned languages related to French –like Spanish, Italian or so– they’ll help you to build up vocabulary in a faster way –always being aware of false cognates, of course.
Hope this helps. Good luck and have fun learning a new language!

If you don’t use a Neo-Latin language you must choose GERMAN or french will be so difficolt!
well german
mostly because so many words in the english vocabulary are very similar to german words
kindergarten- using the german word for “children” (kinder)
ENGLISH – GERMAN
I – Ich
and – und
hello – hallo
hate – hasse
you – du (you could also be dich)
blue – blau
is – ist
come – komme
i know 7 languages (including french and german) german took me about 9 months while french took me about 13 months
so i would strongly recommend german
i guess its german because english and german are in the same language and as a result…there are much similarities!
but french….i guess french is more used than german
