what language is easier to learn french or german?
I currently speak spanish (native language) and english (second language). I want to learn a third language and want to choose the les complicated between french and german.
French, plus it sounds more romantic

But German is actually nice to hear.
I never learned French, but German wasn’t REALLY hard. I would think that learning English as a second language would be harder than both of those…

french would be easier for you to learn with the languages you already know.
For you French would be easier because there are more cognates between French and Spanish and they are both based off of Latin.
I think german because its more like english and you can pronunce every letter whereas in french there is silent letters and all,
i would go with italian, no im just kidding. french why not. but i speak spanish and english and im working on german
French is more like Spanish so it will be a lot easier for you to learn i think. Also, German words are very long and you would have to speak in a completely different accent.
french will probably be easier than german. besides a lot of words in french is kinda similar to a lot of words in spanish

French and english are similar to many languages so if u know them both u can figure everything out..
French. German is a complex language that shares a lot of structural similarities with English. If you’re already familiar with Spanish, French will undoubtedly be much easier for you to pick up.
German is easyer but if you have a desire for French more then German lets say, then go for your desire.
If your native language is Spanish, French will be easier to learn. It is a Latin based language as well.
both shouldn’t be that bad. french is similar to spanish. but german is very similar to the english language. but i guess french might be easier for you since spanish is your native language.
French…German have more difficult words to learn you to pronounce them and tell them….like this: Hausaufgaben(and it’s kidda sort compared to some othersXD)
french is WAY easier, French uses the same alphabet the english language (for example, they dont use some weird greek symbols, they just use regular english letters)
But i highly suggest frech, its a cooler language, and you will probably use it more in life. Plus you can prerswade women with it. lol

If you’re more used to Spanish than you are English, French would be the easiest language for you to learn.
German is mostly and English based language, therefore, harder for you to learn seeing as English is not your native tongue.
German is a more logical language. If you learn the patterns, then it is easy to speak. Plus its vocab is very similar to English (having a common ancestry). On the other hand, French makes up over half of the English vocabulary, so recognition of words is easy, even if the grammar is quite different. However each individual is different. For me i found it a lot easier to learn German and i found French difficult.
Look into both of the languages and have a taster of both and then pick which one you are more likely to succeed at. Test yourself on both and then you will be able to single out your preference

Positively French – I am German and just never learned the language.
Many German words sound very similar to English (ex: craft and Kraft) and the German grammatical system is much easier than that of the French.
If you already know Spanish, French should be easier for you than German.
French is much easier and some words your going to recognize them with english

French spelling and pronuntiation is hard, German is easier.
But many words in French are similar.
I learned fisrt Italian, and French was very easy for me.

It depends on if you’re young enough to train your tongue to pronounce French words. German would probably be easier to understand and to speak. When I took French classes, I was pretty good at the reading and writing part, but I couldn’t understand native speakers, when I rented movies and stuff. It’s not the same as language tapes. They use a lot of letters they don’t pronounce. After plodding through for almost a year and a half, I realized I still couldn’t understand NADA when people were speaking normally, and it didn’t sound nearly as pretty when I was speaking it.
since you know english and spanish, you will be able to relate to some words which will remind you of english and spanish.

My exchange student had French first but it was too hard for her so she took German and she loves it.

French was boring when i took it for 20 weeks but it was the teacher(its kinda easy but some what hard)

Kids who take Latin and German have a better chance of passing the SOLS test
Ok so just to start both are hard and going to require just about the same amount of time and effort into the language. German i think is a little more difficult because of the number of acceptions to things and cases can get confusing but all in all i think German is a very fun language to learn but requires lots of time, if starting German with no previous knowledge then it’ll take you about 4-5 years to learn the language completely. Before i decided to take German in High-School i had the same decision and i chose German.
