I’m considering moving to Montreal and I have a bit of knowledge of french but I am not comfortable. So I would like to know how long on average it would take to learn the language?

I am from peruvian/french background and i already know spanish and italian but i would like to now learn french, how long do u think ,knowing these languages will it take me to learn french? and will it be easy for ME already knowing spanish and italian?

Let’s say I moved to some obscure town in Quebec where no one speaks English (or very few), solely for the purpose of learning french through immersion. How long would it take to become fluent?
(french being just example, I’m looking for a general time for any language)

When France took over some parts of Africa how long did it take them to learn French.

I’m learning it online, so i’ll be doing a lot of listening and reading/writing it.
I plan to do it almost every day, or every other day. Most likely I’ll be doing french every day.
and I’m using a site to talk to french people too. How long would you say it would take me to be fluent?

i have some french, not a helpful amount though. i know basic things and a little more but i can’t really understand well. i have to move to paris soon because my dad has to move with his job.

how long will it take for me to understand everything that is said to me (even just the general point to what they are saying) anb speak a little. i’m worried that because so many people speak english in paris that when they see i don’t speak french, they will speak english! how am i going to pick it up, by jut being there? (no classes)

i’m 16 by the way, apparently it’s a little easier to learn a language younger rather than older, rightttt?

Using such resources as Pimsleur, Learn French with Michel Thomas, and Rosetta Stone. Maybe averaging an hour or two a day?

And plz dont suggest I go to France unless your going to sponser me.

I am fourteen years old. I’m trying to learn French. I know a bit of Spanish (I know pronunciation really well), too.

watch french clips etc on youtube (with english subs)
memorise phrases from the book learn french in 3 months every day for 1 month.

So how long will it take me ?
