Thank you! This is a much more engaging way of learning than having it spoon fed to me. I don’t know a lick of French but there is a logical progression to this lesson, and since phrases don’t always translate perfectly, it gets more at the meaning than the translation.
Yes. Go on.
Hello, thank you very much for nice lessons. I was wondering what exactly “il y a” means? Is it similar to “there is/there are” in english language?
thank the people who make language learning easier. there is always french radio on the internet to learn the language
I enjoy the way you present these lessons. I am currently taking a beginner’s French class and this helps to give me more practice. Thank you for taking the time and effort. I look forward to more from you.
Thanks. I watched your profile (and did not know how to send you a message, so I reply here, but have no idea if it will be relayed). To set off comments would have some benefits, but it would be rude for students who truly want to learn. And their questions help me to improve my teaching. But you’re right: I could do without the whiners!
Briega53, my compliments for your lessons! I try to learn French myself, your videos are a great help for me.
I’m a teacher as well. Although I teach Dutch. If you watch my profile you can see I made 5 lessons until now.
You do a great job, although people are complaining. People are always complaining! It’s not easy to create a lesson, I know it through personal experiences.
Keep up the good work
Btw. I set off the option to reply on my videos, it saves you lots of nasty messages.
What makes you think that your way of learning is universal?
Almost all methods start with greetings and “what’s your name” blahblah. Their failure rate is above 50%.
Can that mean that more than 50% people need to understand what they are going to learn before they can learn it? I don’t know; what I know is that, as a teacher, it’s my job to do my best to pass on what I know. This way was not explored. I explored it, and it works.
Not for everybody, of course. Alas.
Erm isnt this more of a suppementary video? i wouldnt begin teaching students french by saying…..the sun…..the moon……stupid things like that. start with greetings and small conversations mate. structure is not as good as foundation.:P but thanks anyway.
HAHHA But I don’t care about …. THE SKY!!!!
le ceil = the sky
le soleil = the sun
le nuage = the cloud
It’s clear to me what the words mean…
I think this is hard to learn it that way, BUT its actually VERY VERY helpful and effective. I have never taken french classes, but learning in structures makes it visible of how the language works. And the french reading is great for learning the pronounication correctly. Conclusion: GREAT VID!!!!
what the hell ! i dont get anything im just like what are you saying ?
This video was very helpful.
Thank you
i think itis difficult forbegginer to make start withsentence,,,
it is better to strat one byone ,,,
ididn’t like it,,,
no need to apologize but thank you for doing so. I don’t hold anger for people, so of course you are forgiven.
Could you forgive me? I’ve an explanation (I know it is no excuse): I’m so used to teaching to people who are in a hurry -they usually try to save their job- that I forgot that there are other points of view, other ways of dealing with a foreign language. We all start with your method: listening to strange sounds we don’t understand. It works.
I’m sorry but you missed my point. I wasn’t judging your teaching ability, I was making fun of myself for not knowing the language but yet sitting through this video. I’m sure what you do is amazing and very helpful. I’m sorry you took me in such a negative way.
You missed the point. I don’t teach vocabulary: 1)Any dictionary can do it 2)It’s an endless task.
I teach what will allow you to easily learn French: the structures. The structures of the language are limited, and fixed -with respect to a human life span.
I agree that my method is meant for smart and dedicated students who want to be on their own as soon as possible. It is not the usual spoon-fed teaching approach, the one that leaves you unable to speak a word after 4 or 5 years of learning.
I sat here, read and repeated, and have no idea what i said…. Humorous. Such a pretty langue though.
merci beaucoup. C’est secourable.
I purchased the Michel Thomas French foundation course from The Language Specialist on Amazon for a bargain price and have found Michel Thomas course, so effective and there is nothing out there that could compete with his style of teaching. I have learned so much French in 1 week, that i can’t wait to practice in France..
The best thing about MT audiobooks is the fact you don’t need to take notes, no homework. It’s so easy it actually unrealistic.
Can’t wait to learn German and Italian next
Good start, Maddy. Now, go for the spelling.
i knew everything there ! im 12!!!!! yay!
Jem Apple Maddy -my name is maddy-
le soel dans le ceiel -the cloud is in the sky – le nuage dans le ciel – the sun is i nthe sky! woooooooooo i rock!
Not bad.. Thank you
