The song “Bel Ami’ also became popular in France during the Second World War and it was recorded by none other than the popular Tino Rossi and German emigrée Eva Busch – both for the Columbia record company. Other – lesser known versions exist as well…. The version presented today is a fine version recorded in Brussels in 1941 by Lise Coliny who – at that time – was one of Belgium’s most popular French language singers. Today she is completely forgotten… She recorded het version with the orchestra of Emile Deltour/Eddie Tower. F. 257 Brussels, 1941 Record in excellent condition This record was transferred and equalized using the Ortofon Om78 cartridge and stylus as well as a 78rpm phono preamp in order to get an acceptable 78rpm equalization!

Une chanteuse oubliée aujourd’hui, et pourtant une voix bien agréable à écouter! On croirait qu’elle a enregistré cette chanson hier. Sur les 2 versions que tu nous présentes, c’est celle-ci que je préfère
Surtout parce que l’Orchestre est un peu plus “swing” que sur la version de Rosita Serrano
@Deutschlandsender Danke… Lise Coliny war eine gute Sängerin, dabei ist diese Platte besonders gut erhalten. Rückseitig ist “Stern von Rio”. Auch das ist eine sehr schöne Version. Ich werde sie später in der gleichen Reihe veröffentlichen….
