Planning on moving to Quebec in 4-5 years and I know that the main language is french.

I want to be very fluent and be able to read, write, say, and understand french so I won’t be some lost american tourist.

How long would it take me to learn this?
Let’s say, if, I studied hard almost everyday?

And what’s the BEST way to learn french?
(just curious)

I have asked this on another section but did not get a compelling answer
I will go to France this summer, so I want to learn every day French but don’t have the time to go to a language school. Is there any book or CDs you would recommend?
